• Students interested in pursuing doctoral research (PhD) in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Candidates must have valid score from GATE / CSIR-UGC NET / DBT / ICMR or equivalent are encouraged to apply through the IIT Jammu Ph.D. program.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Master’s (M.Sc./M.Tech. or equivalent) or Bachelor’s (B.Tech.) degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Sciences with an interest in Life Sciences research, Computational Biology, or Life Sciences. 

Candidates applying through Biosciences and Bioengineering department should be familiar with genomics, molecular biology, proficient in R, Python, or similar programming languages. 

For the PhD position under Interdisciplinary Programs (IDP) candidates must be familiar with Python, machine learning concepts, including large language models (LLMs), or at minimum possess a solid conceptual understanding of these topics.
